New Vice-Principal at St Stephen’s House

The Revd Damian Feeney has been appointed Vice-Principal and Charles Marriott Director of Pastoral Studies at St Stephen’s House with effect from 1st September 2009.

Father Feeney is currently vicar of Woodplumpton and Assistant Diocesan Missioner in the Blackburn diocese. He was a member of the working party which produced the Mission-shaped Church report. He is also a national team member of Leading your Church into Growth and a member of the College of Evangelists.

Canon Robin Ward, the Principal of St Stephen’s House, said: ‘We are delighted that Fr Feeney will be coming to join the staff at St Stephen’s House. He has outstanding expertise as an evangelist, a pastoral theologian and a practitioner of contemporary mission. We look forward to benefiting from all that he will bring to the college from his rich experience, as we work to provide effective ministerial formation for the Church.’

Damian Feeney was born in 1962 and read music at Durham University, after which he qualified as a teacher. He trained for ordination at Chichester Theological College, and was ordained in 1994. Since 1996 he has worked in a variety of posts in the Blackburn diocese, taking up his current appointment in 2004. He is married to Fiona, a primary school head teacher, and they have three children.
